June 2023 Update
It’s been a heck of a year so far and it’s only half through!
I just turned 38 this week. I haven’t posted an update in a while, so to catch
you up, I signed on about a year ago with the esteemed D4EO agency and with Bob
Diforio as my agent. He’s been guiding me along and I’m trying to be a good
newbie and soak up all the knowledge I can. And not bug him too much. But as
much as I write, I know I’m high maintenance!
We got some great feedback on my YA Welsh Witch fantasy that
went out on sub around Thanksgiving, so I took that feedback and ran with it.
So several edits later we’re pretty darn close to going back out on sub.
In the meantime, I’m getting eyes on my newest magical
realism. I think it has a lot of potential. It’s got the feels! So far the feedback
on it has been phenomenal. I’m really jazzed about Loud Voices and hopefully we
can get it out on sub sometime soon depending on what work my agents thinks it needs or doesn't. Fingers crossed.
I’ve been poking at my prequel, Catalyst, to my Deliverance series. I have about 1/5 of its rough draft written. I know my fans are waiting
for it, so I’m trying not to put it off.
I’ve done several signing events, including at my favorite
local bookstores, New and Olde Pages and Mulberry Street Books. More to come on
more signing events.
And finally, my author friend, Merlin Love, and I have this
crazy scheme to open a writer’s retreat in Ireland so more to come on that
crazy collab adventure. We plan on documenting and filming our adventures so it’s
going to be hella fun. More details to come.
Love to you all,
Dr. Sammy
